Former Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp is set to receive a mouth-watering salary in his new job.

Klopp landed his first job since leaving Liverpool this week, as he was confirmed as the new Global Head of Football at Red Bull.

The former Liverpool manager signed a long-term contract and will start his new role on January 1 next year.

Unlike at Liverpool, where he was responsible for the day-to-day running of footballing activities, Klopp will not be as involved in the Red Bull job.

The 57-year-old will be responsible for the strategic management of Red Bull’s international network of clubs, which includes RB Leipzig, Red Bull Salzburg, and New York Red Bulls.

Klopp’s role involves advising them on coaching matters, playing philosophy, development and transfers of talents/head coaches and more.

Speaking about the new job, Klopp expressed his excitement about the role, stating, “After almost 25 years on the sideline, I could not be more excited to get involved in a project like this.”

He emphasized that while his role has shifted, his passion for football remains strong.

However, although he will not be as involved as he was at Liverpool in his new job, Red Bull has offered Klopp a mouthwatering salary.

How much will Jurgen Klopp earn?

According to Sky Sports Germany’s Florian Plettenberg, Klopp is set to earn around €10-12 million per year in his new job.

That annual salary represents a huge windfall for the former Liverpool manager.

While the sum is less than Klopp’s salary at Liverpool, it still represents a huge gain.

According to L’equipe, the 57-year-old earned about €16 million annually before leaving Liverpool.

Meanwhile, his new salary is far more than most top coaches in Europe currently earn annually.

According to a recent report by GIVEMESPORT, his new €10-12 million-a-year salary at Red Bull places him among the top five highest-paid coaches in Europe.

So the fact that Klopp will earn more than most of his peers despite not being as involved shows how valuable Red Bull considers him.

Speaking after they confirmed Klopp’s appointment, CEO of Corporate Projects and Investments at Red Bull, Oliver Mintzlaff, stated that Klopp’s appointment was the biggest coup in Red Bull’s involvement with football:

“We are very proud of this outstanding and certainly the strongest signing in Red Bull’s soccer history,” he explained.

“Jürgen Klopp is one of the greatest and most influential figures in world soccer, with extraordinary skills and charisma.”

“In his role as Head of Soccer, he will be a game changer for our involvement in international soccer and its continued development?

We are hoping for valuable and decisive impulses in key areas to make the clubs even better, both collectively and individually.”
